RIP – Paul Revere

When I was a kid, one of my first introductions to rock music was watching the short-lived TV show, Where The Action Is. This ABC show, which aired in the mid-60’s, was hosted by Dick Clark as sort of a weekday American Bandstand and was shown in the afternoons as I dimly remember it. One of the popular groups on the show was Paul Revere and the Raiders. Paul Revere wasn’t the singer – that was Mark Lindsay – but the comical keyboard player who founded the band in the late 50’s. Word came out today that Revere (his real name was Paul Revere Dick) passed away at the age of 76.

here is a YouTube clip of the Raiders doing Stevie Wonder‘s “Uptight”
