“The History of Future Folk” – not a freak folk documentary

Opening in L.A. this week is the quirky comedy, The History of Future Folk. All I really know about this low-budget movie is its amusing trailer which uses the tag line: “probably the only alien folk duo sci-fi action romance comedy ever made which makes it the best alien folk duo sci-fi action romance comedy ever made.”

The story is something about two aliens who land in Brooklyn and, instead of taking over the Earth, they become a popular folk duo. The question is whether the film’s quirkiness stays amusing or just gets annoying before the end titles roll.
