Attention: Old 97’s Fan – Too Far To Care reissue contest news

If you care about the Old 97’s Too Far To Care album you probably already know that Omnivore Recordings is coming out with a deluxe reissue of the great recording. I have been listening to it recently and totally digging all the wonderful twangy pop tunes: “Timebomb,” “Barrier Reef,” “Broadway” – and those are just the first three tracks!

Anyway, as they on the late night commercials – “but wait, there’s more!” Omnivore has a contest with the grand prize being a life-time spot on the Old 97’s guest list. Details, from the label’s email, follow:

Today on Noise Trade get a free digital 3-song E.P. in advance of the upcoming Old 97’s reissue of Too Far To Care. These three demos are exclusive to the E.P. and will not be on the 2-CD / 2-LP reissue. Nor will they be on the They Made A Monster: The Too Far To Care Demos LP/Digital release. So grab them from now Noise Trade and complete your collection!
But, that’s not all. If you were thinking about waiting, you might just want to jump on the first pressing of the first-time-on-vinyl double-LP release of Too Far To Care either from your local record store on October 9 or pre-order it from our webstore. It may contain a golden ticket that will grant you a life-time spot on the Old 97’s guest list. Any of their gigs you wanna go to… forever! Two golden tickets have been randomly inserted – one for the record stores, one for the online store. Good luck!
