I failed to mention earlier another free show (and fine show) option for tonight, Thursday, Aug. 18. The Donnies The Amys will be playing at Pershing Square tonight at 9 as part of the summer free concert series there.

This Echo Park pop duo consists of one Donnie (singer/instrumentalist Donnie Stemp) and one Amy (drummer Amy Wood) but they boast a full, lush sound on their self-titled debut. The music pulsates while also being just bittersweet enough to be not too sunny.
This outdoor show is an apt location for them since the two also have been part of the band, The Outdoors. That coincidence aside, this impressive young band is one to check out, whether live or on album.
