I wrote a piece about the Monkees awhile back upon news of Davy Jones’ passing, so I thought I’d add some happier Monkees news.
Micky Dolenz is releasing a new album this fall entitled Remember. True to its title, the disc will be stocked with tunes that you’ll remember from your younger days. It’s like listening to the top of ’60’s Top 40, with songs like “An Old Fashioned Love Song,” “Diary,” and “Sugar Sugar.” Dolenz includes a couple of Monkees songs as well as the Beatles’ “Good Morning, Good Morning” and the Nilsson-penned cover tune. Dolenz describes the disc, in the press release, as an “audio scrapbook of the important songs in my life that had meant something to me for one reason or another.”
Remember is due September 25 from (Waterfront Ent. Group/RoboRecords and Universal Music Distribution.
